Experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Harrow

Veritas Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Harrow, looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and supporting their learning journey, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:

As an LSA, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide support for children in both classroom and one-to-one settings. Your role will involve helping students with their academic progress, promoting independence, and ensuring that all students feel included and valued within the school community.

Responsibilities:

- Provide learning support to students in Key Stages 1 and 2, helping them access the curriculum and succeed in their studies

- Work with individual students and small groups, particularly those with SEN, to support their learning and development

- Assist class teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the needs of all learners

- Encourage and promote independent learning and inclusion for all students

- Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of the SENCO to support students' progress

- Help develop differentiated learning materials to meet individual student needs

- Observe students' behaviour and learning in the classroom, providing additional support where necessary

- Maintain records of student progress and liaise with teachers to ensure effective communication about student needs

Ideal Candidate:

- Experience working as an LSA or in a similar role, particularly with children with SEN

- A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to working with young children

- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents

- A commitment to promoting inclusion and supporting the academic and personal development of every student

- A passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential
