Location: Hartlepool, North East, UK

Salary: £42,238 basic (inclusive of shift allowance), rising to £46,395 upon demonstration of site-specific competencies + quarterly bonus.

Shifts: shift pattern of 12-hour days and nights (2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off)

Job role:

A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Craft Team Member to join our clients Engineering team at the Pipe Mill in Hartlepool. As part of a small, multi-disciplined engineering team, you will provide first-line expertise to our clients manufacturing areas.

Reporting to the Shift Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the engineering team in carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Ensuring Health, Safety & Environmental standards are maintained and safe working procedures are followed.
  • Providing first-line technical expertise and troubleshooting to minimise plant downtime.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to process control systems in collaboration with relevant peers.
  • Maintaining high-quality workmanship, ensuring robust repairs that prevent recurrence of faults.

This position operates on a shift pattern of 12-hour days and nights (2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off).

What You Will Need:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A completed electrical apprenticeship or a recognized electrical maintenance qualification (NVQ or similar).
  • Experience in heavy engineering manufacturing (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Additionally, we would love to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • Industrial and domestic wiring.
  • Overhead cranes & associated safety systems.
  • PLCs (Siemens & Allen Bradley) including HMIs.
  • AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems.
  • Variable speed motor control (inverters, converters, and speed feedback devices).
  • Interpretation of electrical drawings.
  • Awareness of safety-related control systems.
