Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer.
Overall Purpose:
- The successful candidate will work within the Engineering Maintenance team.
- Working on a 3-shift rotation the role is to work flexibly within the team to minimise machine downtime through effective planned and preventative maintenance as well as supporting with the installation of new equipment and supervising contractors when needed.
Key Duties:
- To keep yourself and others safe at all times.
- Respond to breakdowns as required and assist with planned maintenance interventions.
- Have responsibility as the "Shift Engineer" responsible for the performance of the machine(s) on site.
- Be able to problem solve processing issues and breakdowns.
- Repair, replace, install and source appropriate equipment.
- Log all work orders carried out in the Maximo engineering system.
- Ensure the spare parts booking out process is followed.
- Investigate maintenance problems and provide corrective action and advice.
- Be available for call out and to be part of the on-site Fire Team.
- To comply with any reasonable request that is within your capabilities whilst maintaining safety at all times.
Key Requirements:
- Suitably qualified - ONC or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in production maintenance.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to problem solve in a structured manner.
- Ability to carry out mechanical repairs as required.
- Knowledge of steam and compressed air systems preferrable.
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and written, with peers and supervisors.
- A self-motivated individual with an organised approach.
- Microsoft office experience.
The Package:
- £50,500 per annum including shift allowance.
- 3 shift pattern, early finish on fridays 37.5hrs per week.

Contractual overtime working of 1 weekend in 4, Saturday & Sunday 6:00-14:00. (13 weekends)
- Pension - auto enrolment 4.5% contribution from Saica, 4.5% from employee unless request different
- Life assurance (death in service) - 4 x basic salary
- Holidays - April - March Four weeks (20 days for 5 day worker) in your first full holiday year. Annual holidays will increase by 1 day for every full holiday year completed up to a maximum of 25 days after 5 full holiday years have been completed.
