If so, Reed Accountancy are on the lookout for a motivated Purchase Ledger Assistant to help drive our client’s success and growth. This role is essential for managing the business’s purchase order system, handling invoices, and ensuring smooth payment processes – all within a newly renovated office space, and ready to start ASAP!

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee and manage the purchase order system for various operational expenses.
  • Post and review invoices, ensuring consistent use of accurate GL codes.
  • Handle supplier queries, manage payment runs, and reconcile month-end statements.
  • Maintain the statement reconciliation tracker and ensure all purchase invoices are processed by the month-end deadline.
  • Generate weekly KPI reports and review department efficiencies, implementing new controls and automation projects.
  • Ensure timely processing and approval of all non-bulk invoices.
  • Prepare cover for the weekly payment run and update various financial trackers (e.g., utilities, repairs & maintenance).
  • Review contracts for operational expenses, ensuring value for money and service efficiency.

What The Client Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger roles and supplier account reconciliation.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, SUM, etc.) are essential.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly adapt to bespoke systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
  • AAT level 3 is preferred, but candidates qualified by experience are also welcome.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where speed and accuracy are paramount.
