About Us:Randstad is proud to partner with the Fostering Service in Hartlepool to recruit passionate and experienced Social Workers. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with foster carers, children, and multi-agency teams to ensure safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children in need.

Job Description:As a Fostering Service Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing, supervising, and supporting foster carers. You will ensure that children placed in foster care are safe and receive the care and attention they need to thrive, while also contributing to the recruitment and development of new foster carers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess prospective foster carers to ensure suitability and compliance with fostering regulations.
  • Support and supervise existing foster carers, providing guidance to ensure high-quality placements.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the welfare and safety of children in foster placements.
  • Conduct regular home visits and assessments, preparing detailed reports for fostering panels.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and assessment of new foster carers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings, including case reviews, safeguarding conferences, and foster panels.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working within fostering services or children's social care.
  • Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding policies, and child protection legislation.
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, foster carers, and professionals.
