Hartlepool Borough Council's Safe and Supported Team is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to protecting children from harm and providing high-quality support to families facing challenges.
About the Role:
You will be part of a team dedicated to:
- Providing direct support and interventions to children and families who have been identified as needing additional support.
- Working collaboratively with children, families, and other agencies to develop individualised care plans and deliver effective interventions.
- Engaging with families, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Advocating for the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
- Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying their needs and risks.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans, tailored to the specific needs of each child and family.
- Provide direct support to children and families through one-to-one sessions, group work, and community outreach.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including schools, health services, and the police, to deliver effective and timely interventions.
- Monitor progress, evaluate interventions, and make adjustments as needed.
- Advocate for the needs of children and families, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a direct work or support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
