As a Teaching Assistant for the Year 6 class, you will play a vital role in ensuring pupils are well-prepared for the transition to secondary school. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide tailored support, and help maintain a positive classroom environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Classroom Support: Assist the teacher with lesson delivery, providing 1:1 and small group support to Year 6 pupils.
- Focus on Progress: Help pupils stay on track with their learning and support their preparation for end-of-year assessments.
- Encourage Confidence: Build strong relationships with pupils to foster their confidence and independence.
- Behaviour Management: Support the teacher in maintaining a calm and focused classroom environment.
- Collaborative Working: Work as part of a small, dedicated team in this close-knit school community.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a strong background in supporting Key Stage 2 pupils (especially Year 6).
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and pupils.
- A good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and the challenges pupils may face.
