Mechanical Project Manager
Meridian are working with a large-scale commercial M&E outfit in the North-West who are looking to expand their ever-growing team and take on a Mechanical Project Manager. You will be dealing with multi-million pound contracts such as hospitals, schools, apartments and industrial units to name but a few. Requirements for this job:
  • Mechanical background, ideally coming from a background with CSCS in Heating & Ventilation, Pipefitting, HVAC, or Plumbing, and previous Site/Project Management experience
  • Relevant experience in management of commercial and industrial projects, such as schools, apartments, hospitals etc.
  • The ideal candidate will have worked up from a Mechanical background on the tools, to Site Supervision and Site Management
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Your duties in this role will include managing and co-ordinating the Mechanical fit outs of various contracts across the North-West.Working for a leading regional contractor, all your contracts will be North-West based. This will include managing from before subcontractors are on site, until project completion.
  • You will be tasked with managing the Mechanical Subcontractors on site, to make sure deadlines are being met, Health and Safety compliance is being adhered to andmaintained by your teams of Supervisors and Site Managers onsite,and high standards of Mechanical install are being met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • You will also be involved with the process of analysing, valuing, bidding, andtenderof upcoming potential projects, witheffective communication surroundingthe division and planning of potential labour requirements, estimating accurate time-frames, and keeping trackof budgets for ongoing and upcoming projects. This will involveeffectivecommunication with the relevant departments in your business, such as Estimators,ProjectManagers, Site Managers and Site Supervisors, as well as communicating with buyers, clients and on-site customers.
  • You will be involved with regular progress meetings with other managers in your business, to analyse and maintain high output, track budgets and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Help to anticipate and plan ahead to avoid potential upcoming issues that may arise during the current or upcoming projects, with effective problem-solving and communication skills.
