We are seeking a skilled Site Carpenter to join our team for a luxury single dwelling upgrade and extension project. This role involves first fix carpentry and insulation work on a high-end property refurbishment.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience working on similar high-end residential projects -
• Ability to deliver high-quality workmanship with attention to detail
• Must have own tools and reliable transport
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to provide references from previous relevant projects
Job Details: First Fix Duties for Site Carpenter – Luxury Property Refurbishment
- As a Site Carpenter specializing in first fix carpentry, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Structural Carpentry
- Constructing and fitting timber frameworks, such as stud walls, roof trusses, and floor joists
- Installing timber partitions, door linings, and window frames
- Building and securing stairs, including complex designs if required for luxury finishes
- Laying timber flooring supports and subfloor structures
- Insulation Installation
- Measuring, cutting, and fitting thermal and acoustic insulation in walls, floors, and roofs to ensure energy efficiency and soundproofing • Ensuring all insulation meets building regulations and client specifications
- Preparation for Second Fix
- Ensuring that all frameworks are perfectly aligned and ready for the second fix (e.g., fitting doors, skirting boards, and architraves) • Checking that openings for services (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) are correctly sized and positioned
- General Duties
- Reading and interpreting architectural plans and technical drawings accurately • Liaising with the site manager and other trades to ensure smooth project progress • Ensuring high-quality workmanship in line with luxury property standards • Keeping the worksite clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations
