Job Title: Compliance and HSQE Lead
Role Overview:
As the Compliance and HSQE Lead, you will be pivotal in ensuring the company adheres to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) compliance. Your primary responsibilities include monitoring, auditing, and continuously improving HSQE systems, ensuring that the organisation complies with relevant industry regulations. This hands-on role involves working closely with internal teams to foster a safe, compliant, and environmentally sustainable work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HSQE Compliance & Monitoring
  • Lead all HSQE activities, ensuring alignment with industry regulations, including ISO standards and UK-specific safety laws.
  • Conduct audits and monitor workplace practices to ensure adherence to HSQE policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions to address identified risks.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and sustainability practices.
2. Safety Leadership & Incident Management
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Lead incident investigations and establish preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, reports, and certifications.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness across the organisation through training and regular communication.
3. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Manage the quality assurance process to ensure all operations meet established quality standards.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and safety performance.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate best practices for quality and safety into day-to-day operations.
4. Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions control, and resource conservation.
  • Monitor the companys environmental impact and implement strategies to reduce its carbon footprint.
  • Conduct environmental audits to ensure sustainable and compliant operations.
5. Training & Development
  • Develop and deliver HSQE training programs to ensure employees are well-versed in safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Lead safety meetings and encourage proactive participation in health and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support continuous employee development in HSQE areas.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in HSQE management, ideally within the construction, water, or utilities sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in auditing, compliance system management, and safety protocol implementation.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to managing safety, quality, and environmental processes.
Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification is highly desirable.
  • Project management certification is advantageous.
