We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an established not for profit business in Hertfordshire, as an Assistant Management Accountant you will play a key role in providing accurate financial insights, helping to drive strategic decisions that support stability and growth. The role is offered on an extremely flexible basis, with just 1 day a week in the offices. The team are looking for an engaging, proactive candidate who will provide a collaborative work approach and be a key team player. Key responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Conducting variance analysis and providing key financial commentaries.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes alongside budget holders and service managers.
  • Providing financial expertise and guidance to teams across the organisation.
  • Collaborating with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
  • Assisting in process improvements and financial policy development.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Key skills: 
  • Previous experience within a similar role including assisting with the month end close 
  • Charity or Housing industry experience is desirable but not essential 
  • Multi-income stream experience would be highly advantageous 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong reconciliation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
