Children’s Home Deputy Manager

Location: Hatfield

Full Time - Permanent

Salary: £35,000 (+ sleep-in allowance £65 per sleep)     

Hours of work      37.5 hours per week-average (shift pattern)

          

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Children’s Home Deputy Manager for a 3 bedded EBD Residential Children’s Home in Leicester.

The successful candidate will support the aims and objectives of the setting and assist the Manager in the organisation of a high quality establishment for Children and Young people.

The aim’s of the home are to ensure a safe, homely and therapeutic environment for vulnerable young people.

Deputy Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attending and contributing to placement planning and review meetings
  • Involvement in the recruitment and retention of staff
  • Assist the manager in developing a management style which balances the need to exercise control and give direction with the need to offer staff the opportunity to contribute to decision making
  • Ensuring that all new staff receive a full induction to the Home in line with company policy
  • Ensuring that each member of staff receives supervision in line with National Minimum Standards
  • Attend team meetings and assist the registered manager to organise team meetings
  • Promote personal and professional development through the appropriate delegation of duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure that each young person has the required documentation that it is current, relevant and is updated as necessary
  • Assist the registered manger with the day to day managerial duties
  • Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager

Deputy Manager Minimum Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce, or equivalent
  • Level  5 Leadership and Management children and young People (Desirable)
  • At least 3 year’s experience of working in a residential setting with children
  • Experience of managing a staff team
  • Be flexible, committed to your role and available to join the On-Call rota
