Our client is a leading architectural metalwork and glazing contractor specializing in bespoke solutions and innovative commercial fitouts. They pride themselves on delivering tailored, high-quality projects across various sectors, including offices, retail, and hospitality, ensuring that every project reflects their clients' unique brand identity and requirements.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team, who will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of projects from the initial client consultation through to completion.

Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate the costs of labour, materials, and subcontractor services required for glazing & architectural metalwork projects.
  • Understand design drawings, plans, and specifications to provide accurate cost breakdowns.
  • Work closely with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment between budget, design, and project goals.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Identify potential cost risks, and propose value engineering options where necessary.
  • Ensure estimates stay within the project scope and budget, and support cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare tender documentation and submit bids for new work.
  • Provide detailed cost reports and projections to clients and internal teams.
  • Review completed projects to ensure budgets were adhered to and identify areas for future cost savings.

Estimator

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within the architectural metalwork or glazing sectors.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and design specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimation software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
