Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts and sortation controls to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance
Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot technical problems with conveyor belts and sortation controls, including identifying faulty components, replacing parts, and resetting systems
Carry out preventative maintenance on conveyor belts and sortation controls, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration
Work with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures and protocols
Identify opportunities for improvement in the maintenance of conveyor belts and sortation controls, and provide recommendations to management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment
Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
Proven experience in a similar maintenance technician role, preferably in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment with minimum 2 years' experience
Excellent knowledge of conveyor belt and sortation control systems, including electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and effectively
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
Qualification in an engineering or technical discipline, such as electrical or mechanical engineering (we will consider candidates that are looking to gain experience with their qualification)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience working in a safe and clean working environment
Flexibility to work a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, including weekends and nights.
