Health & Safety Manager

This role is paying a salary of up to £75,000 and is a permanent role based in Bedhampton, above Portsmouth and easily commutable from Cosham, Fareham, Chichester, Petersfield and other surrounding cities.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee environmental, health, safety, and security functions, ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability. This role also encompasses site security and will eventually include facilities management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

EHS Leadership: Direct EHS activities, establish objectives and targets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Risk Assessment: Facilitate risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and work with the leadership team to mitigate risks.Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor leading and lagging indicators to measure EHS performance.Cultural Development: Promote a zero-incident EHS culture and engage employees through EHS teams and committees.

What do I need?

· 5+ years in EHS leading roles within manufacturing

· A degree in relating occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or equivalent. Or mechanical engineering would certainly be considered relevant.

· H&S Certifications and memberships

· Strong team-building, organisational skills, and managerial courage.

· Understanding of industry and legal EHS requirements.
