Job Role: Small Tools Fitter
Location: Newmarket, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £29,(Apply online only)-£32,(Apply online only) (Overtime Available + Full training)
Hours: Monday-Friday 07.00-17.00 + Overtime @ 1.5x
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
The Client:
Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established plant hire firm covering the Midlands and the South East to support the growth of their team. Our client, who have been established for over 30 years, have reached a stage of growth where they are looking to onboard engineers from either a plant, HGV, Automotive or Agricultural background to the team.
The package:
- 22 days Annual Leave + Public Holidays
- All overtime over 8 hours per day is paid at 1.5x (£21 per hour)
- Salary Sacrifice Scheme for an addition 5 days annual leave per annum
- Full training & development with a focus small, heavy plant, generators including electrical, mechanical, testing and hydraulic.
- Opportunity to develop into a workshop or mobile plant fitter in the near future
- All of the above promotions accompany substantial increases in salary and benefits.
The Requirements:
- Previous experience working within the automotive industry or hold experience with mechanical fitting
- Experience working on engines would be advantageous
- Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience
- A desire to lead, manage and grow a team of your own
- Relevant qualifications NVQ or City and Guilds in any automotive engineering (advantageous)
- Open for full training and development within the plant industry
- Full UK Drivers License
The Responsibilities:
- Diagnose complex technical issues and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on an array of small tools (saws, drills, mini diggers, Generators etc)
- Complete further training surrounding the wider kit list.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Offer training and support to clients' staff on machinery operation and maintenance best practices.
- Keep detailed records of service activities, parts used, and work completed for accurate reporting.
- Communicate effectively with the in-house engineering team to provide feedback and improve product performance.
