The role of the Transport Delivery Driver is based in UB3 and will report to the Transport Supervisor. The Transport team plays a crucial role in the business by liaising with and meeting the needs of our diverse customer base, which includes over 200 retailers and individual consumers. Their tasks involve ensuring timely deliveries and coordinating with other operations departments and our own stores, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
The Home Delivery Driver is responsible for ensuring that all home deliveries are made promptly, aiming to meet and exceed customer expectations. A reliable transport and delivery service significantly contributes to our sales growth.
Permanent Position
Salary 32k.
Hours: Monday to Friday, with varying start times from 6am. Finishing times will depend on the completion of the day’s deliveries, regardless of hours worked.
Key Responsibilities.
- Deliver and install bed bases and mattresses alongside the lead driver.
- Conduct vehicle checks.
- Adhere to all company policies and administrative systems to ensure smooth business operations.
- Collaborate effectively as part of the Transport team.
- Communicate effectively at all levels, responding positively and promptly to internal and external customer requests.
- Overcome obstacles and adapt to variances while on the road.
- Maintain service levels and achieve targets.
- Follow all departmental procedures and notify the line manager of any changes.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills.
- The job holder must be an experienced delivery driver, capable of entering customers’ homes appropriately.
- Drivers Licence held longer than 3 years.
- Experienced in driving a 3.5 Van
- Must be over 23years.
1x overnight required per week.
