Our client is seeking a Transport Planner with a strong background in freight forwarding and a forward-thinking attitude. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and planning vehicles for import collections and export deliveries, ensuring all daily collections and delivery requirements are met, and maintaining compliance with all legal requirements.

Working Monday to Friday on early (6am - 2pm) and late (2pm - 10pm) shifts. 

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage and plan vehicles for import collections and export deliveries efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding operational issues.
  • Ensure all legal compliances, including DVSA, WTD, and UK legislation, are adhered to.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the transport team.
  • Be flexible with working times and days as part of a shift operation.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication at all levels, dealing with both internal and external customers.
  • Uphold all DHL Global Forwarding processes and procedures.
  • Solve problems effectively and enjoy the challenge of a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in scheduling, preferably within the air freight industry.
  • Good understanding of LHR and the Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) that service the airlines and their handling requirements.
  • Full understanding of Aviation Security regulation and ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Experience with shared mailboxes.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multitask.
  • IT generalist knowledge, with experience in Transport Management systems and proficiency in MS Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail, customer service, administration, and financial awareness.
  • 5-year checkable work history.
  • CRB check.
