Transport Planner

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Our client is seeking a dedicated Transport Planner to manage and oversee the transport planning for retail store deliveries. This role is essential in ensuring efficient and timely delivery operations, directly contributing to the success of our retail services.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Daily planning and coordination of transport to retail stores.
  • Preparation and distribution of daily retail run sheets.
  • Regular monitoring and management of the ship confirm inbox.
  • Booking external haulage and entering retail loads on a daily basis.
  • Weekly release of Dreams transport planning and downloading of driver tachographs.
  • Conduct monthly vehicle checks to ensure all transport operations comply with safety and maintenance standards.
  • Plan and provide daily Direct Home Delivery (DHD) run sheets as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in transport planning, preferably within a retail context.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in numeracy, literacy, and IT (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills, capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure with adept problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good listening skills to accurately understand the needs of customers, staff, and the business.
  • Confidence, patience, and politeness, particularly in handling challenging situations.
