Year 8 Nurture Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Year 8 Nurture Teacher to join our team in the Hillingdon Borough. The successful candidate will be instrumental in raising standards of student progress and achievement within year 8, particularly focusing on all groups of students within the transition department. This role is a temporary full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Be accountable for student progress and development within the transition department.
  • Serve as a role model of professionalism and good practice.
  • Ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students in the transition department.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the team, planning cooperatively, sharing information, ideas and expertise.
  • Develop a holistic approach to meeting social, emotional and mental health needs, enabling learners to make good progress by working with other teachers, support staff, families and external agencies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Experience in teaching Year 8 or similar age groups.
  • A strong understanding of the educational needs of young people, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Ability to create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
  • Experience in working with SEN students is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and sharing best practices.
