We are looking to recruit a butcher for a well-established catering butcher based in Sussex.  An excellent package will be offered to the ideal candidate who must be able to fulfil the below criteria.

Job Description

Job Title: Experienced Catering Butcher

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overall Objectives: To assist the management & team in the cutting room and ensure the company’s reputation for meat quality and butchery is always maintained.

Specific Responsibilities:

- To be able to butcher, to high standards, quickly & efficiently, as agreed with the Head Butcher / CEO.

- To assist the team with compiling client orders.

- To be always a tidy & conscientious worker.

People Management:

- To treat your colleagues as you would expect to be treated yourself.

- Health & Safety, Food Safety, the Butchery Environment

- To ensure that the Cutting room meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation and procedures as guided by the Operations Manager.

- To ensure all equipment is well maintained and is in good working order.

- To ensure safe working practices are followed and equipment faults are reported to the operations manager.

- To ensure that all company procedures and work instructions are fully understood and practiced.

- To promote and encourage environmental improvement initiatives as appropriate within the business.

Additional Responsibilities:

- To take responsibility for contributing towards your own development with the guidance of the Operations Manager and completing online training courses as identified.

- To show commitment to company values in all aspects of your role.

- To act as a positive ambassador for the business.

- To attend to any reasonable request made by the Head Butcher or Management.

- To assist the Head Butcher.
