Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives, guiding long-term planning and resource allocation
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation and presentation of timely and accurate financial reports, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, conduct variance analysis, and implement effective forecasting models to enhance financial accuracy
- Commercial Operations Optimisation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiency
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Manage cash flow projections and working capital strategies to ensure optimal liquidity and financial stability
- Risk Management & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust risk management practices, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and internal controls
- Team Development & Leadership: Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic financial guidance and support for negotiations
- Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate financial systems, implement new technologies, and streamline processes to enhance operational efficiency
Skills & Experience for the Director of Finance:
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modelling
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to anticipate financial trends and implement effective strategies
- Communication Proficiency: Excellent presentation skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in reoccurring payments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; Master's/MBA preferred
- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel
