  • Full-time office-based role in Haywards Heath, with standard working hours from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm (with some flexibility for part-time hours).

What are they looking for?

  • At least 2 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution, ideally in a paralegal capacity.
  • A solid academic foundation with a law degree or equivalent qualification such as a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).
  • A strong grasp of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and a comprehensive understanding of the court processes in England and Wales.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to juggle multiple deadlines and tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient with legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw) and office software such as Microsoft Office.
  • An enthusiastic, proactive approach to managing cases and achieving high standards of work.

  • Collaborate closely with senior colleagues to oversee a diverse portfolio of legal cases in dispute resolution, litigation, and contentious employment law.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide clear, actionable insights that inform case strategy and support argument development.
  • Draft and refine legal documents, including court filings, correspondence, and witness declarations, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Play a role in assembling case documentation, ensuring that all court and tribunal procedures and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Serve as a key point of contact, liaising efficiently with clients, legal experts, barristers, and court representatives.
  • Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records within case management systems, ensuring smooth case progression.
  • Oversee case file management, keeping records in order and ensuring proper diary and task management.
  • Aid with financial aspects of case handling, including the preparation of invoices, tracking expenses, and managing financial records.
  • Support settlement negotiations and pre-litigation discussions, attending meetings, and ensuring that notes and key points are captured accurately.
