- Purchase equipment and services to support project leaders and internal customers as required. This process will include the preparation of enquiries, purchase orders, evaluation of bids and contractual negotiations, to optimise returns achieving/improving upon budgeted costs, ensuring ‘best practice’
- Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery, performance, schedule and delivery
- Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality
- Expedite suppliers and produce regular feedback to the project team
- Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements
- Coordinate documentation approvals, submissions and monitor returns
- Provide assistance to Business Development & applications department in the form of advice and estimates for costs of manufacture and shipping
- Undertake alternative supplier evaluations in readiness for future strategic challenges, within the supply chain, when required
- Provide support as required to the other members of the procurement team
- Monitor supplier inventory, and provide support to members of the finance team, ensuring accurate financial year end stock sheets are submitted in a timely manner
- 2 years+ experience working in a Purchasing role (essential)
- Negotiation and influencing skills (essential)
- Experienced working within an engineering/manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Have basic understanding of engineers drawings (desirable)
