Location: Ilford (with flexible working)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Package

About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist roofing contractor based in Ilford, focusing on projects within the social housing and education sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of various roofing projects, working closely with both public sector clients and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of roofing projects, ensuring costs are controlled and profitability is maximised.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best terms.
  • Regularly report on project progress, costs, and any issues to senior management.
  • Assist in tender preparation and procurement strategies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the roofing or construction industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of working on projects within the social housing and/or education sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen, with experience managing JCT and other standard form contracts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage key stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., RICS or equivalent).
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and the ability to work independently.
  • A full UK driving licence.
