Plater

We are currently recruiting for an time served plater to work within the fabrication team for a large customer based in the South Tyneside area.

The Role:

• Carry out plating operations following work instructions
• Read and understand drawings to ensure that steel is cut to specification
• Accurately assemble and ensure that plating is carried out to specification
• Cut and prepare plates / sections
• Tack welding and other welds when necessary
• Assemble fabrication work to pass to welders for final assembly

The Person:

• Candidates must be time served through a recognised training programme, such as time served apprenticeship
• Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Experience with using fabrication equipment
