We are working with our client who are a leading food manufacturing company based in South Tyneside in their search for an electrically biased maintenance technician.
The role is dayshift with some excellent training and progression opportunities on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including motors, sensors, control panels.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical machinery to reduce downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical systems, machinery, and production lines.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety standards and regulations, such as food safety protocols, HACCP, and electrical codes.
- Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose faults in electrical components using tools such as multi-meters and other testing devices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including repairs, inspections, and parts replacement, using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Adherence to Food Safety Standards: Follow strict hygiene and food safety procedures when working on equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
The Person:
- Experience as an electrically biased maintenance technician
- Experience in a food or manufacturing environment advantageous
- PLC knowledge advantageous although not essential
- Be able to work alone or part of a team
