Location: Jarrow
Salary: 15.92 per hour (30,500 per year) PLUS Overtime
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, Half Day Friday)

Overview:
My client, a leading manufacturer in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join their team based in Jarrow. The successful candidate will work on high-precision liquid level gauges made from carbon steel and stainless steel, built to extremely high tolerances. This is an excellent opportunity for a coded or previously coded welder to secure a stable and rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel materials.
  • Ensure all products meet the strict tolerances required for the oil and gas industry.
  • Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Work alongside engineers and fabricators to achieve production targets.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must hold current or previously held coded TIG welding certification.
  • Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly with carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to fine tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing components for the oil and gas sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Benefits & Working Conditions:

  • 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (full days) and Friday (half day).
  • Overtime available: 1.3x pay during weekdays, 1.5x pay for weekends.
  • Generous holiday structure: Two fortnight shutdowns per year (Summer and Christmas), Bank Holidays, plus 9 additional personal days.
