Academics, Halifax's specialist education recruitment agency, is seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis!

About the Role:

  • Work 1:1 with a KS2 child with ASD in a client school based in Mytholmroyd.
  • Full time position, intended on leading to a permanent role.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for the child.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure a holistic approach to the child's needs.
  • Contribute to the child's development and progress.

You'll be Ideal if You Have:

  • A minimum of 1 years' experience working with children with ASD in an educational setting.
  • An understanding of autism spectrum disorder and associated behaviours.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
  • A calm, patient, and positive approach.
  • The ability to build rapport and trust with children.
  • A commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Being male is preferred for this role, however anyone with experience will be considered. (Gender is considered to be an occupational requirement : Equality Act 2010)
