Business Development Manager

OA are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our client, a respected designer and manufacturer of high-quality commercial and residential wallcoverings.

You will primarily be responsible for identifying and generating business opportunities via the use of the telephone and working in collaboration with the Sales Team.

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Hours: Full-time, 8:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Office based.

Salary: £28,000 + annual bonus

Business Development Manager- Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategies as directed in order to identify then maximise business opportunity within targeted accounts.
  • Identify prospective business from a variety of sources such as sample requests, enquiries, Internet searches, and customer referrals. This will include both warm and cold leads.
  • Arrange follow-up calls with potential prospects
  • Keep a daily log of call activity and monitor success rate
  • Contact a high-volume of customers against assigned KPI’s
  • Investigate inactive accounts and implement strategies to re-activate them.
  • Ensure all appropriate leads and opportunities are followed up in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure accurate and up to date records via the CRM systems.
  • Attend and contribute to regular sales and progress meetings/launches
  • Work with the team in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Business Development Manager- Skills and Experience:

  • Previous success in an outbound B2B telesales role
  • Previous experience in a field sales role – UK licence required
  • Strong customer service/sales experience
  • Professional telephone manner and an ability to confidently strike up a conversation
  • Highly motivated
  • Proactive
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to plan and organise
  • Calm under pressure
