Civil Design Manager
An industry leader in renewable energy is seeking a Civil Design Manager to lead client-focused construction design management for large-scale wind, battery storage, and solar projects. You will oversee a team of engineers, ensuring safety in design and compliance with CDM Regulations, and act as the PD or PSDP contact when required.
Key responsibilities of a Civil Design Manager:
- Lead a team of civil engineers to deliver design and engineering management services, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met.
- Manage team capabilities and resources to align with business needs, ensuring continuous development and training.
- Provide risk mitigation strategies to manage and reduce risk exposure across the group.
- Develop and maintain management systems and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with business requirements.
- Coordinate engineering governance and technical solutions across different markets to promote best practices and innovative capabilities.
Requirements:
- Experience in planning phase and construction phase design management (ideally covering multiple disciplines).
- Ability to identify and evaluate site constraints.
- Expertise in site infrastructure design for greenfield/brownfield sites.
- Commercial awareness (contracts, specification writing, budgeting).
- Line management experience.
- Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
- Strong engineering background, with a transition into design management and line management.
- Knowledge of UK CDM regulations.
