If so, then I have a rare opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a large process business based in the Hemel Hempstead area. They have been established for over 50 years and have provided process consultancy services to some of the most recognised companies in the Oil & Gas field. The position offers hybrid working of 3 days WFH and 2 days in the office per week, salary circa to 35k initially with reviews, additional bonus scheme of up to 12%, Private Medical Insurance, Pension Contribution up to 12%, Life Cover, 28 days holiday + Bank Holidays and more

Summary of the Project Engineer:

The main purpose of the role is the execution and co-ordination of multi-discipline engineering projects associated within the process field (Pipelines, Pumps, Actuator Systems).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project control from initial approval through to commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure agreed staff-hours and cost targets are adhered to.
  • Prepare project plans and programmes.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with procedures to client satisfaction.
  • Identify and manage design risks.
  • Provide appropriate engineering designs in accordance with relevant company, client, national and international standards.
  • Develop design and construction drawings.
  • Conduct design reviews with project stakeholders.
  • Manage on site construction contracts.
  • Liaise with on-site staff to ensure health and safety targets are achieved.
  • Assist in the preparation of commissioning plans.
  • Maintain good client relationships.
  • Adapt to changing priorities presented by client requirements.
  • Ensure good engineering practices are maintained.
  • Assist in the development of scopes of work and budgets.
  • Operate to expected quality standards.

Requirements of the Project Engineer:

  • Engineer with BEng equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • Project Engineering experience is required. This would suit a junior level engineer who has a passion for project work.
  • Knowledge in specified engineering discipline (preferable in the context of the design, project engineering and construction)
  • Controls and Instrumentation experience will give candidates a distinct advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • Can perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Proficient with desktop applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Valid UK driving licence.
