As a Motor Vehicle Trainer, you will work with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

路 Deliver engaging, high-quality vocational training in motor vehicle maintenance and repair, ensuring learners gain skills relevant to their future employment.

路 Support learner development, helping them build confidence and technical competence in motor vehicle skills.

路 Adapt teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring all learners can succeed.

路 Monitor and assess progress, providing constructive feedback and additional support where necessary.

路 Ensure a safe and structured learning environment, adhering to health and safety standards.

路 Work collaboratively with colleagues, prison staff, and external partners to ensure effective course delivery and learner progression.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

路 Level 2 vocational qualification in motor vehicle maintenance or a related field.

路 Substantial industry experience in the motor vehicle sector.

路 Experience delivering vocational-based training in an educational or professional setting.

路 Ability to engage and motivate learners using a variety of training methods.

Desirable:

路 A teaching or assessing qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.

路 Prior experience in prison education, apprenticeships, or vocational training.

If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, full support will be provided to achieve one as part of your probationary period.
