Our client, a leading manufacturer of Aerospace mechanical precision components, is looking for an NDT Level 2 Inspector to join their innovative manufacturing team in Hemel Hempstead.
Summary:
You will join a dynamic team in a modern, clean environment, where you'll produce high-precision parts and components for the Aerospace industry. The work involves small to medium-sized batches with varying levels of complexity. This role primarily focuses on supporting production needs within the Milling department. Additionally, you'll play a key role in working on NPI (New Product Introduction) parts, developing innovative manufacturing methods for our customers' cutting-edge designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing NDT testing and inspections using both Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant methods, analysing results, and preparing detailed reports.
- Detecting defects and interpreting test outcomes.
- Compiling test reports and presenting key findings.
- Participating in Nadcap and customer audits.
- Conducting control checks and documenting the results.
- Coordinating the calibration of NDT equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with Nadcap prime specifications.
- Implementing Lean principles in alignment with the company standards and maintaining adherence to all applicable quality requirements.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing role, preferably within the aerospace or a similar industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) environment, with the ability to provide documented proof of past experience.
- Valid NDT certification (EN4179) is essential.
- At least three years of progressive experience as an NDT technician.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Proficiency in applying NDT techniques for magnetic particle and liquid penetrant inspections.
- The candidate must be self-certified and hold a quality stamp after the qualifying period.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering drawings and the ability to interpret them.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.

- Hours: 39.5 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break).
