We're now recruiting for a newly created Office & Stores Trainee role for a company based in the Maylands area in Hemel Hempstead.

This is a very well-known and highly respected company within their sector and renowned as a very stable and long-term employer.

On a day-to-day basis you will be based in the offices and working closely with the spares & service team, with the likelihood being that most of your time will typically be in the office, but the need to do some light picking and packing in the stores warehouse side of things will be quite frequent.

This is a trainee position and would be a great gateway into an office position, because of the type of role it is you will need to have good communication skills, be computer literate and comfortable with being on your feet and going into a warehouse type environment frequently to help with moving/packing light and small goods.

You'd be working in a very friendly and supportive team, with full training provided and an exceptionally nice working environment.

The core hours of work would be Monday to Friday and a choice of shift patterns from 8am to 5pm and 9am to 6pm.

Please do note that in this role they do also have a 24/7 cover service, this is a phone that is rotated amongst the team and if it rings and you have to pick up any calls outside of core hours, you'll be paid a set overtime payment per call/emergency.

A starting salary of 24k is on offer, plus overtime payments, as well as an annual bonus, private health, definite progression routes and opportunities as well as the standard pension and 24 holidays + bank hols.

This is a permanent and full-time position and due to the nature of the role, you would be 100% based on-site in the Hemel Hempstead, Maylands site.

What to expect day to day:

  • Processing of orders on the computer system
  • Providing customer service to their key customers and accounts, mainly via email but also over the phone
  • Producing quotations for customers
  • Working on stock checks and stock takes - Both in person in the store and producing reports/updating spreadsheets on the system
  • Store based work will involve stock check/take, some light picking and packing, taking in orders etc.

  • Comfortable working with different systems and juggling multiple tasks
  • Experience in using Microsoft programmes, such as excel, outlook & word.
  • Willing to go the extra mile, including 24/7 cover on rotation.
  • Right to live and work full time in the UK.
