Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Supply Desk is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position at a supportive and inclusive school in Hemel Hempstead. The School:

A vibrant medium sized school in the heart of Tring. Children are at the centre of decisions made at the school and they pride themselves on providing an inclusive learning environment and opportunities for success regardless of background, needs and abilities. Staff are supported as the school recognises that this is key in order to develop pupils in to achiever with high aspirations of themselves.

Role Details:

  • Full-time position working 1:1 with a child with SEN in a school.
  • Long-term role with the potential for career progression.
  • Provide tailored support to meet the individual learning needs of the child.
  • Implement strategies to help the child engage in learning and achieve personal and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents to ensure a consistent approach to the child’s development.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, such as Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and the ability to build a positive relationship with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to adapting to the child’s evolving needs.
  • Holds a relevant qualification in education or SEN support (desirable but not essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
