Our Client is actively seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical focus and sound mechanical knowledge to join their team at a busy poultry abattoir. This position offers a rewarding opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer with a commitment to high standards in food safety, machinery efficiency, and product quality. The ideal Multi-Skilled Engineer will demonstrate effective troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Team Collaboration: The Multi-Skilled Engineer will work closely with engineering, production, and other departments, supporting daily operations.
  • Compliance & Hygiene: Maintain audit-ready records and ensure that all hygiene standards are adhered to.
  • Machinery Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and improvement of essential equipment, including the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and waste systems.
  • Health & Safety: Prioritise food safety, health and safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards in all tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency, tackling recurring issues and supporting continuous business improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a food or FMCG environment.
  • Education: Engineering Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification with an electrical bias.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings.
  • Certifications: Food Safety Level 2 (training provided if needed).
  • Flexibility: Ability to work weekends, bank holidays, and varying shifts as per operational needs.
Schedule
  • Shift Hours: 10-hour shifts between 05:30 and 23:00, Monday through Sunday.
  • Weekend Requirements: 2 Saturdays/Sundays per month, scheduled in advance.
  • Flexibility Required: Some tasks must be carried out outside of standard hours due to production and animal welfare requirements.
