Position Overview
My client are an almost 100 year old engineering company seeking a Project/Development Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from the initial enquiry through to the production phase, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions across multiple industries, including Defence, rail, Formula 1, and aerospace. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee projects from initial enquiry to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Accurately price jobs by assessing project requirements and resources needed.
- Devise innovative solutions to meet project specifications and challenges.
- Conduct detailed FEA to predict how products will react to real-world forces, vibration, heat, and other physical effects.
- Perform strain analysis to evaluate the deformation of materials and components under stress.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to understand their needs and provide regular project updates.
- Work closely with various departments, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related time served apprenticeship
- Understanding of engineering processes and techniques
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of composites would be a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of FEA and stress analysis
- Must be able to pass security clearance
