Job Description:
We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Henley In Arden on a 2-month temporary contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounts payable to support the finance team in managing supplier payments and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage a high volume of supplier invoices and ensure they are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Verify and reconcile invoices against purchase orders and delivery receipts.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs, ensuring that payments are made in accordance with agreed terms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain account statements and resolve any outstanding queries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding payments and vendor management.
- Assist in month-end closing processes, ensuring that all supplier invoices are accounted for.
- Prepare reports on outstanding payables and assist with cash flow management.
- Support the finance team with any other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance role is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve issues professionally.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a high volume of work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) is an advantage.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a willingness to assist where needed.
