Job Title: Manufacturing Controller
Location: Henlow
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
PAYE Rate: £17.60 per hour + £2.56 per hour holiday pay
Umbrella Rate: £23.64 per hour
Overview:
Our client in the Defence sector is seeking a Manufacturing Controller to join them on a 12month contract basis, to manage the issue, receipt, and organisation of stores and inventory within a warehouse environment. This role also involves the loading, control, and monitoring of work packages within a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee stock control and storekeeping, including the management of shelf life.
- Load manufacturing cells with the necessary jobs, adhering to planned lead times and cycle times to meet manufacturing programs and delivery schedules.
- Perform packing duties, including the use of hand tools, and manage the receiving and issuing of tooling.
- Update and maintain computer records.
- Conduct kitting activities.
- Handle the loading and unloading of lorries.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a stores or manufacturing control environment.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Willingness to work flexible shift patterns.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility in tasks and responsibilities.
- Training in manual handling.
- Training in lifting and slinging, including overhead cranes.
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) training.
Desirable Skills:
- Proficiency in PC skills, particularly in Excel.
- Forklift truck license.
- Familiarity with Kanban and 2-bin systems.
- Experience with an Enterprise Planning System, such as SAP.
