Overview:
Our client in the Defence sector is seeking a Manufacturing Controller to join them on a 12month contract basis, to manage the issue, receipt, and organisation of stores and inventory within a warehouse environment. This role also involves the loading, control, and monitoring of work packages within a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee stock control and storekeeping, including the management of shelf life.
  • Load manufacturing cells with the necessary jobs, adhering to planned lead times and cycle times to meet manufacturing programs and delivery schedules.
  • Perform packing duties, including the use of hand tools, and manage the receiving and issuing of tooling.
  • Update and maintain computer records.
  • Conduct kitting activities.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of lorries.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a stores or manufacturing control environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Willingness to work flexible shift patterns.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in tasks and responsibilities.
  • Training in manual handling.
  • Training in lifting and slinging, including overhead cranes.
  • ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) training.

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in PC skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Forklift truck license.
  • Familiarity with Kanban and 2-bin systems.
  • Experience with an Enterprise Planning System, such as SAP.
