Guidant Global, in partnership with our client, a global leader in Defence and Missile technology and a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Controller. This role involves overseeing the issuance, receipt, and management of stores and inventory within a store's environment. Additionally, it includes handling the loading, control, and monitoring of work packages in a manufacturing setting near the Stevenage site. We are actively seeking professionals with expertise in the missile and defence industries to join our client's team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock control and storekeeping, including efficient management of shelf-life control.
  • Loading manufacturing cells with the required jobs according to planned lead and cycle times, ensuring compliance with manufacturing programs and delivery schedules.
  • Packing tasks, utilising appropriate hand tools as necessary.
  • Receiving and issuing tooling, maintaining accurate records.
  • Updating computer records to track inventory and related information.
  • Performing kitting activities to prepare materials for production.
  • Safely loading and unloading lorries or trucks.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

What do you need?:

  • Experience in store's environment or manufacturing control.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changing work requirements and shift patterns.
  • Proficient in lifting and slinging techniques, including operating overhead cranes.
  • Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and completion of manual handling training.
  • Possession of a forklift truck license.

Desirable skills:

  • PC skills, including EXCEL.
  • Knowledge of Kanban and 2-bin systems.
  • Experience with an Enterprise Planning System, e.g., SAP
