About the role:

As Bid Manager, you'll be at the heart of proposal efforts. You'll lead, inspire, and support team's while ensuring each bid is meticulously crafted, competitive, and strategically aligned to win. This is a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally, optimize bids, mitigate risks, and drive growth in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid Excellence: Lead the bid process by managing, motivating, and directing subject matter experts, ensuring that each proposal meets evaluation criteria and aligns with our strategic goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and communicate bid risks, working with teams across the business to proactively manage and mitigate potential challenges.
  • Market Insight: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive dynamics by collaborating with market intelligence, sales, and product teams to integrate key insights into each proposal.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a small, dedicated Bid team to achieve optimal performance, personal growth, and continuous improvement.

About You:

We're seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Public Sector Bid Experience: Proven track record of delivering complex, high-value bids, ideally within the payments sector.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrable experience mentoring and developing team members, with a passion for leading by example.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions that drive success.
  • Commercial Insight: High level of commercial acumen, with an understanding of the financial implications of pricing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled at building productive relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organizational Precision: Exceptionally organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Educational Background: Degree-qualified or equivalent experience; APMP Practitioner certification is required.
