Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
- Job Type: Full-time (12-week - possibly temp to perm)
- Location: Worcester and Hereford
- Salary: £26,950 pro rata
We are seeking a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join a dynamic team. This role involves supervising a team of grounds maintenance operatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality gardening services, and acting as the first point of contact for supervision and advice.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carry out gardening duties and supervise grounds maintenance tasks across multiple sites in Worcester and Hereford.
- Coordinate and manage the team, setting targets and ensuring completion of works.
- Conduct inspections to monitor the standard of work and provide feedback.
- Maintain communication with teams and management to ensure performance aligns with set standards.
- Liaise with tradespeople and other agencies regarding work in various locations.
- Respond to emergencies as required and ensure all work is effectively supervised.
- Assist with planning and delivery of the grounds maintenance service, including training and development of staff.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, particularly relating to Health & Safety, Customer Involvement, Equality and Diversity, and Safeguarding.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in gardening and grounds maintenance.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role, ideally within a service delivery environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with teams and clients effectively.
- Proficiency in basic Health and Safety, particularly in the use of gardening equipment.
- Ability to work flexibly, including Bank holidays, weekends, and out of hours as needed.
- Full driving licence and willingness to drive a company vehicle.
