The Role:

  • We are seeking experienced Social Workers to join us on our improvement journey. Whether you specialize in assessments or supervision/support, we invite you to bring your skills to our dedicated team.
  • As part of the Kinship section of the Fostering Team, you will focus on assessing connected person foster carers and Special Guardians, as well as providing support and supervision to approved connected foster carers. Your role will also involve private fostering work and offering ongoing support to Special Guardians post-order. We are passionate about improving the lives of our children and young people and ensuring that Kinship carers receive the support and recognition they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of connected person foster carers and Special Guardians.
  • Provide supervision and ongoing support to approved connected foster carers.
  • Prepare comprehensive analytical reports for court, meeting required timescales.
  • Engage with families and stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of services within the local authority.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in statutory social care, preferably within Kinship & Fostering.
  • Strong skills in assessment and supervision of carers.
  • Ability to produce analytical reports that meet court standards and deadlines.
