We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing essential support and care to young people, ensuring their welfare and helping them achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate individual who acts as a positive role model and is committed to the development and success of the young people they support.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Attend to the practical, physical, and emotional needs of young people, ensuring their welfare at all times.
  • Establish positive relationships with young people, offering them unconditional and positive regard.
  • Act as a key worker for a small number of young people, providing tailored advice, assistance, and support.
  • Help young people address past and present difficulties, providing emotional support during times of stress.
  • Encourage young people to develop links with the community and expand their social network.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide written reports for planning meetings and reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the aims and objectives of the home, maintaining consistency in the execution of childcare plans.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing positively and actively to the development of the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Secondary education required; Level 3 Childcare qualification and a current clean driving licence are desirable.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Experience in forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people.
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues and the ability to safeguard the welfare of young people.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and an understanding of Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discriminatory Practice issues.
