A position is available for a Jointing Supervisor, with a strong focus on Distribution Network Operator (DNO) works, particularly with UK Power Networks (UKPN). This role centres around overseeing cable jointing teams and being the primary point of contact for operations, with a special emphasis on cut-out work, link boxes, and connections up to 11/33kV.

Position Overview:

As a Jointing Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of the operation, managing the day-to-day activities of cable jointing teams and ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently. The role requires an individual with a robust background in cable jointing and team leadership. Your primary responsibilities will include liaising with the Project Manager, ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, and completing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

This position is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of LV and HV systems, up to 11/33kV, and experience within a DNO or Independent Connection Provider (ICP) environment. Comprehensive knowledge of supervisory duties within this sector will set you on a clear path to success.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in cable jointing, particularly within the DNO/ICP environment.
  • Proficiency in LV and HV systems, with a focus on operations up to 11kV.
  • Proven experience in supervisory or team-leading roles.
  • A thorough understanding of HSE practices and the ability to complete RAMS.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to oversee multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively manage teams and report to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee cable jointing teams, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Act as the first point of contact for operational queries and issues on-site.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and complete RAMS for all tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring a high level of performance.
