Science Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract: Long-Term & Fixed-Term Placements

GSL Education is seeking a motivated and dedicated Teacher of Science to join schools in York and the surrounding areas. We have long-term and fixed-term placements available from Easter or September 2025, with full-time opportunities in supportive and well-established schools.

About the Role:

  • Teach KS3 and KS4 Science (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics).
  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical science lessons that inspire students.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress, ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to support student behaviour and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an exciting and engaging science curriculum.

Minimum Science Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in a Science-related subject or a relevant field.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level (KS3 and KS4 essential, KS5 desirable).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young scientists.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and support students with a range of learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
