Role:               Arrest Referral Worker – Substance Misuse

Based:            County Durham

Rate of Pay:    £26,000 – 30,000pa (+8% for weekend hours)

Start Date:      ASAP – March 2025

Duration:        12 months Fixed Term Contract

Hours:             37 hours/ Monday to Sunday

Shifts:             Monday to Sunday 8am – 6pm (shifts are 8am – 4pm or 10am – 6pm) and on average 1 in 3 weekends

 

 

Supporting Futures are recruiting on behalf of an inspirational national charity who have over 50 years’ experience supporting people to rebuild their lives and empowering positive change.

 

They are looking for Arrest Referral Workers to join their Northeast Team who are based within Police Custody Suites and who are responsible for carrying out custody-based specialist substance misuse assessments following arrests.

 

You will be conducting assessments relating to the client’s substance misuse use, additional needs and any barriers to accessing support. Following on from the assessment the successful candidate will then identify and make referrals to local services and professionals, make recommendations and encourage clients to engage with support services.

 

You will be working within the Police Custody Suites and will be working closely with the Police and Local services and Professionals with the aim of supporting clients into treatment facilities and access additional support in the community.

They are looking for someone who has experience of working with clients with substance misuse needs (this can be from a variety of sectors), ability to building quick rapport with clients and work in a flexible and adaptable manner.

 

You will need to have a strong knowledge of local services, facilities and amenities and have experience of multi-agency/ partnership working.

 

They are looking for someone who can work in a compassionate and non-judgemental manner and engage vulnerable and hard to engage clients.

 

Should you be successful in this role they will put you through DBS and Police Vetting.
