About the Role:

Northumberland County Council is seeking a dedicated HGV Driver Operative to join our Waste Business Unit based at Hexham Depot. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling materials across the county, ensuring high standards of service delivery to the local community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate HGV waste collection vehicles safely and in compliance with regulations.

  • Carry out waste and recycling collections as scheduled.

  • Ensure all waste is handled and disposed of in line with Council policies and environmental standards.

  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults or issues.

  • Work as part of a team to maintain high service standards.

  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and manual handling procedures.

Requirements:
