Do you think you have the right skills to progress within the business? Torque Consulting are on the hunt for a Mechanical Draughts person to join their highly skilled team to interpret sales documentation, produce General Arrangement drawings, allocate materials, and create manufacturing drawings for Cranes and other related equipment.

Principal Accountabilties

  • Gather necessary information from the sales specification
  • Create General Arrangement drawings of Cranes and Hoists, depending on contract requirements
  • Customer site visits occasionally required to fulfil the general arrangement procedure
  • Identify correct components and materials to enter in the company MRP system
  • Create purchasing descriptions for proprietary components to be ordered in the MRP system
  • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and release for crane and hoist manufacture
  • Communicate effectively with the sales department and manufacturing to provide technical support
  • When required, communicate with clients and suppliers to ensure smooth order flow
  • Work within company quality and safety procedures
  • Compliance with all relevant company procedures

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Comfortable interacting across the business
  • Able to work from heights for site visits
  • Good understanding of engineering environment

Desirable:

  • Capable of using CAD systems
  • Qualified to HNC Level or equivalent in Mechanical/Design Engineering
  • Experience working in engineering environments
